| Description | Journal: Superconductor Science and Technology Single phase films of $YBa_{2}Cu_{4}O_{8}$ showing an onset $T_{c}$ of 80 K have been grown on MgO and $SrTiO_{3}$ (100) substrates by pulsed laser ablation deposition with an excimer laser operating at 308 nm. The optimum physical properties were obtained by growth onto a room temperature substrate in 260 mbar of flowing oxygen followed by a post-growth anneal in 1 bar of oxygen at 800 degrees C. |
