Description	Journal: Journal of Physics B: Atomic and Molecular Physics Natural radiative lifetimes of ytterbium in the 6sns$ $^{1}$S_{0}$ (n=12-22) Rydberg sequence have been measured using stepwise excitation and the fluorescence decay monitoring method. The lifetimes are perturbed by $6p^{2}$ and $4f^{13}$5d6s6p configurations near n=12 and 19. The lifetimes of two perturbers were also measured.
