| Description | Journal: Iop Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering Air-conditioning contributes significantly to high energy consumption in commercial buildings. It is essential to monitor and evaluate the performance of air-conditioning systems to avoid unnecessary energy wastage. This paper presents the results of a study carried out to evaluate the performance of an actual building air-conditioning system with reference to the Malaysian Standard MS1525. The results of the air-conditioning system's performance and thermal comfort analysis are presented and a comparison is made to the results of a survey conducted among the occupants of the building. Although the results indicate a satisfactory coefficient of performance for the building despite the age of the system, recommendations on system improvements are proposed to further save energy. |
