The spin-1 antiferromagnetic system in the presence of biquadratic exchange has been investigated by making use of the angular momentum (spherical tensor) operator Green function in the RPA. Expressions for the sublattice magnetization and Neel temperature are given. The Neel temperature is found to increase with increasing biquadratic exchange parameter. In the limit of zero biquadratic exchange a result consistent with that obtained by Lee and Liu (1967) using Callen's approximation (1967) is obtained. |
