| Description | Journal: Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics Effects of correlations on a microscopic calculation of binding energy and radius of nuclei are investigated. Shell-model calculations are performed for$ ^{16}$O taking into account configurations up to 4 h(cross) omega in an oscillator basis, chosen to have a maximum overlap with the BHF wavefunction. The effect of two-particle-two-hole up to four-particle-four-hole correlations on the radius turn out to be negligible. The calculated energy is only slightly affected by correlations beyond those contained in the BHF approximation. |
