| Description | Journal: Japanese Journal of Applied Physics Lead-free $Li_{x}(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{1-x}(Nb_{0.8}Ta_{0.2})O_{3}$ piezoelectric ceramics samples prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction and two-step calcination method were achieved and compared. The effects of the amount of $Li_{2}O_{3}$ on the phase structure, microstructure, dielectric, and piezoelectric properties of $Li_{x}(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{1-x}(Nb_{0.8}Ta_{0.2})O_{3}$ ceramics samples were systematically discussed and investigated. It was found that the $Li_{2}O_{3}$ content in $Li_{x}(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{1-x}(Nb_{0.8}Ta_{0.2})O_{3}$ ceramics samples strongly affects the structure and electrical properties. For the two-step calcination method, the lead-free ceramics samples exhibited excellent dielectric and piezoelectric properties. The relative dielectric constant $(ε_{r}$) and loss tangent (tan δ) of the lead-free $Li_{x}(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{1-x}(Nb_{0.8}Ta_{0.2})O_{3}$ piezoelectric ceramics samples for x = 0.03 compositions prepared by the two-step calcination method were 1223 and 0.021, respectively. In addition, the electromechanical coupling factor $(k_{p}$) and Curie temperature $(T_{C}$) were 48.5% and 315 °C, respectively. These results show that $Li_{x}(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{1-x}(Nb_{0.8}Ta_{0.2})O_{3}$ ceramics samples are promising candidates for lead-free piezoelectric materials. |
