Description	Journal: Inverse Problems The inverse scattering method for the discrete nonlinear Schrodinger equation $i(dq_{n}$/dt)+(1- mod $q_{n}$ mod$ $^{2}$)(q_{n-1}+q_{n+1}-2q_{n}$)+2( rho$ ^{2}$- mod $q_{n}$ mod$ $^{2}$)q_{n}$=0 under nonvanishing boundary conditions is developed. Multisoliton solutions are obtained. A number of examples related to some physical problems are considered.
