Description	Journal: Physics Bulletin I am living in a large multi-storey hall of residence for 200 students in the University of Manchester. Over 150 of these are post-graduates and at least two-thirds of these are scientists. The following problem has been discussed to great depth and so far we have not been able to come to a satisfactory explanation amongst the residents.
