| Description | Journal: Physics Bulletin I was interested to read the letter by J. G. Dawes in your February issue on the professional standing of scientists and engineers. As the professional association for members of the United Kingdom engineering profession, the Engineers' Guild would agree with most of the points which he makes, and we have of course been working for many years, in the words of our formal objects, 'to promote and maintain the unity, public usefulness, honour and interests' of the profession. Apart from this, however, Mr. Dawes goes on to propose the formation of 'an organization devoted to advancing the profession of the scientist and engineer', and 1 think it is important to be clear about what this would involve. |
