| Description | Museums are frequently unable to house all the collections in their possession. Private objects with cultural heritage value are occasionally displayed in an inadequate way due to the lack of appropriate expositive space. It is therefore feasible for Public Institutions to borrow these items and provide a suitable scenario for their public display. Indeed, it is very common for buildings such as City Halls, Ancient Universities and Houses of Parliament, to possess sufficiently large unoccupied spaces that allow such pieces to be accommodated. Unfortunately, these Institutions scarcely have any kind of curator. For this reason, items that could be lent and shown in this way must therefore require little or no maintenance and the probability of becoming damaged must remain low. This paper deals with the process of installation and care of a XVI century big iron forging in the entrance hall of the School of Engineering of the University of Seville.
