| Abstract | This work contains peer-reviewed papers presented at the International Symposium on Groundwater Problems related to geo-Environment, held in Okayama, Japan in May 2003. The symposium was organized to promote the exchange of ideas, and the latest developments in research and practice in the fields of geo-environment and groundwater from all over the world. The papers in the book have been grouped into six major themes: dewatering in excavation sites; subsurface water and stability of slopes; preservation of natural groundwater flow; contamination of soil and groundwater investigation; prediction and remediation; field survey and determination of hydraulic properties; modeling and analysis of groundwater flow.
