| Description | In today's society, the construction sector is growing fast and increasingly high-tech solutions are infiltrating projects one job site at a time. This reality dominates in the main urban agglomerations where population increase is accelerating. However, the newly developed technologies for the rapid erection of high-rise buildings have a negative impact on the traffic volume. Within this frame, the most important impediment consists in the occurrence of numerous traffic jams. One of the most accessible and advantageous solutions to overcome this shortcoming is the construction of new bridges at the cross road levels. In order to validate the effectiveness of this traffic solution, a case study is presented in this work. The studied bridge has a mixed steel-concrete structure divided into five openings with a total length of 270.40 m. Upon the completion of the construction works, the administrator decided to carry out several static test series. This paper presents the set-up of the static tests, along with the monitoring methodology and the results obtained.
