| Description | A coupled damage-viscoplasticity model has been developed in order to overcome shortcomings of the viscoplastic model in simulating the failure process of softening materials. The coupled model improves the fracture modeling since a stress-free crack can be simulated which grows from a localization zone of finite width into a macro-crack. This is demonstrated by means of an analytical and computational study. Book Name: Finite Elements in Civil Engineering Applications |
