Description	Journal: Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology The effectiveness of orally administered naproxen in the treatment of acute gout was assessed in an open study of twelve patients given the drug in known amounts for a preset period of time. The patients were selected in part from admissions to Harborview Medical Center, an affiliated hospital of the University of Washington, and from a private rheumatology practice. The patients were primarily older males who had well-established diagnoses of gout and who had had several prior episodes managed with a variety of anti-inflammatory regimens.
