| Abstract | This chapter illustrates Bi-relational Development (BirD) with extracts from life narratives collected using a semi-structured survey. The chapter illustrates some of the archetypal regions, positions and dynamics that define BirD while again highlighting the ubiquity of dyadic structures. The chapter shows that wicked problems are also experienced as individual issues that have deeply affective and existential dimensions. A premise of BirD is that dyads provide a relatively ubiquitous structure for understanding onto-epistemological development and its expressions in diverse symbolic systems. The premise of BirD is that onto-epistemological dispositions are powerfully revealed in the ways of relating the polarities of feeling and thinking. Perhaps my most common focus has been on the differences between pro-dyadic dispositions that lend themselves to binary oppositions, and post-dyadic dispositions that balance, correlate or even begin to collapse dyadic oppositions.
