| Description | Affected by the maritime season, the unstable changes of bio-aerosols on cruise routes have an important impact on human health. Especially particles smaller than 10 microns are easily attached by bacteria and viruses. In this paper, solid particles sized 2.5 microns are selected as the research object. Based on the Euler multiphase flow model, the particulate matter propagation characteristics of the cruise cabin under natural ventilation are simulated and studied. Two typical cruise ship cabins are numerically simulated. The flow field characteristics and the spatial distribution of particles in the cruise ship cabins are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The multi-index evaluation method was used to focus on the influence of the location and size of the air outlet on the airflow characteristics and the transmission process of particulate matter. The results of the study show that the air quality in the cabin can be improved by optimizing the air inlet and adjusting the layout of the indoor furniture. It provides a theoretical basis for reducing the risk of passenger infection. The conclusion would directly guide the layout and optimization of cruise cabin design.
