| Description | League Championship Algorithm (LCA) is a well-known metaheuristic algorithm based on the metaphor of sports competitions in sports leagues, which was first introduced by Husseinzadeh Kashan in 2009. LCA is the first sports-inspired population-based algorithm for global optimization that tries to imitate a championship situation where artificial sports teams participate in an artificial league for several weeks. In this chapter, we introduce the algorithm and review its applications for solving various optimization problems. Several modifications preserved in LCA for improving its performance are also introduced. Book Name: Handbook of AI-based Metaheuristics |
