| Description | Journal: International Journal of Neuroscience There is considerable anatomical and electrophysiological evidence that the centromedian nucleus is an integral part of a prefrontal system including the prefrontal cortex and the basal ganglia. It was hypothesized, therefore, that ablation of the centromedian nucleus would impair the monkey's performance on spatial delayed alternation and object discrimination reversal tasks, while leaving visual pattern discrimination undisturbed. Contrary to predictions, results indicated no impairments on any of the tasks. The implications of these findings were discussed. |
