| Description | The open cast method by use of dragline stripping is an advanced mining technology which combines excavation, haulage and dumping into one operation to move the overburden into the mined-out area. Since 1970s, dragline strip mining method has obtained rapid development and worldwide applications. Some new technique developed for dragline stripping in recent years is introduced. There are a number of newly-developed surface coal mines in China, most of them possess favorable conditions for huge dragline stripping application, e.g. large in mining area; abundant in coal resources; horizontal buried deposit. Among them HDG surface mine has commenced on reform and extension engineering for dragline strip mining.
