| Description | This chapter presents energy harvesting solutions as a power supply option for IoT sensor nodes. IoT applications may require millions of sensor devices connected and communicating with each other. These sensor devices will require a power source to operate, and a continuous power source is necessary for continuous data collection. Several energy harvesting techniques have been discussed and compared with each other. Available energy harvesters are solar, mechanical (i.e., vibration), electromagnetic, radio-frequency (RF), and thermal energy.
