| Description | Based on the concept of solid waste recycling, this research sought to make full use of lubricating oil waste and waste rubber to modify asphalt. Various properties of the blend of lubrication by-product (LBP) and reclaimed rubber modified asphalt (RRMA) prepared by the one-pot method were studied. The influence of LBP on the physical properties, anti-aging properties and storage stability of the blends was investigated. Results illustrated that LBP could improve the physical properties, such as penetration, softening point, ductility and anti-aging performance of RRMA. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed that the chemical compositions of LBP and 70# asphalts are very similar. This evidence suggested that LBP enhanced the compatibility of RRMA. In addition to the above advantages, LBP and the reclaimed rubber powder are expected to be widely used in the future for highway and airport construction with the advantages of low cost and environmental friendly.
