| Description | The world is becoming more sustainable with every new building, which is aimed to create healthier, cleaner and safe environment while consuming fewer natural recourses. The LEED certified Avedisian school is the pioneer among sustainable buildings in Armenia, followed by BREEAM certified UWCD Academic building. This article studies these two projects to understand the current situation and necessary steps to have more sustainable buildings in the country. Case study approach is used to analyze the practice and development opportunities of sustainable architecture in Armenia. Both projects were analyzed based on the interviews with the architectural teams and materials provided by them. Buildings where explained by their natural, technical and cultural images. These case studies indicate that there is need to create or develop national green strategies, regulations to attract developers to build more sustainable buildings.
