Description	Journal: New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics An isolated edentulous dolphin mandible from the Tangahoe Mudstone (Waipipian Stage, Pliocene), Waihi Beach, probably represents a species of Delphinus or Sienella (Delphinidae). Other fossil dolphins have been reported from New Zealand, but this is the first specimen to be described formally.
