| Description | Friction stir welding, as we know, has been invented in the year 1991, and its patents are protected by The Welding Institute (TWI) situated in England. It is well known that friction stir welding (FSW) happens to be a solid-state welding procedure. In this method, a turning nonconsumable device will be deciphered along the interface between two materials that are to be merged. The device termed as tool comprises of a projecting pin, and this pin is inserted into the workpiece whereas, a bigger concentric “shoulder” is 140kept up on the outward part of the joint. The shoulder comprises a sunken surface, which creates an ideal blend of frictional warming and fashioning weight. The schematic setup of FSW is illustrated in Figure 7.1.
