| Description | Interprofessional collaboration has always been a feature of primary care, but its importance has become emphasised over recent years as a vital component of an effective, efficient and sustainable health and care $system.^{1}$ This recognition is due to multiple factors, including ageing populations, changing social contexts, increased people with multiple long-term conditions, expectations from patients that they will be more involved in decisions, financial pressures on health and care services and the deployment of new digital technologies. Despite its long-term engagement with interprofessional working, there remain many challenges to primary care achieving collaboration consistently in $practice.^{2}$ Barriers exist at all levels of the system including those of policy, finance, regulation and $organisations.^{3}$ There is though considerable evidence that professionals do not always demonstrate the underlying values, skills and behaviours that are necessary to collaborate successfully with those from different $professions.^{4},^{5}$ The introduction of new roles and blurring of traditional professional boundaries are adding further complexities.
