Description	Selection of an optimal manufacturing process for a desired product requires the consideration of the workpiece material and shape. The production quantity, size, economic aspects, and environmental aspects should also be taken into consideration. A manufacturing process should ensure product performance, reliability, quality, reduced manufacturing costs, and product success in the market. Moreover, design considerations cover the technical feasibility of design decisions, while the process quality is concerned with tolerance capability associated with characteristic dimensions. This chapter provides a criterion for the selection of product materials and manufacturing processes that have the capability to satisfy the engineering design specications, application, and quality requirements.
