| Description | Journal: The Australian library journal The provision of video recordings in public libraries as sources of information and recreation has received extensive consideration by librarians, particularly since the advent of video cassettes and the widespread availability of video recorders. In order to stimulate interest in the topic the Audiovisual Services Committee of the Library Association of Australia requested one of its members, Mr Stephen Doyle, a public librarian with extensive experience in developing a video recording collection in a public library, to prepare a report on the topic. The following paper reports on the development and operation of a collection of video recordings in the author's library and offers some brief guidelines. |
