| Description | Acid mine drainage is successfully treated by constructed wetlands at a mining site currently being reclaimed near Fabius, Alabama. However, the State of Alabama is interested in the fate of pollution parameters being removed from acid drainage. This study examines effects of storm water drainage through the constructed wetlands by evaluating effluent water quality. In particular, the study reviews total iron (TFe), total manganese (TMn), and total suspended solids (TSS) concentrations and pH levels vs. flow, rain intensity, and total rain. Two constructed wetland sites, Impoundment 1 (Imp 1) and Rocky Top 2 (RT 2), are investigated. Book Name: Constructed Wetlands for Water Quality Improvement |
