| Description | One of the significant causes of land degradation is land-use and land-cover change (LULC). The present study assesses the impacts of LULC on Dolakha, Nepal, between 2001 and 2018. Its purpose is to understand how LULC change has implications for land degradation over two decades. Using ArcGIS, with Landsat images and Open Data Nepal, ICIMOD land use and land cover data, the LULC map was generated. The result of this analysis shows that barren land significantly increased in the area by 7%, 27% and 22% in the years 2001, 2010, and 2018, respectively, leading to land degradation. This assessment provides the status of the various land types and offers guidelines for appropriate land management. Book Name: Re-envisioning Remote Sensing Applications |
