| Description | Internet of Things (IoT) devices are everywhere and increasingly deployed in critical infrastructure sectors like power grids and industrial systems. All of these devices create a new entry point to the network and therefore pose an increased security risk. One thing that can help IoT reach its full potential is the consideration of proper security measures to protect IoT infrastructures against potential threats. This chapter provides an overview of the current threat landscape in IoT ecosystems, along with the most relevant security measures, either technical or nontechnical, that can be applied to protect from cyber-threats. For each security measure, we will explain how it may alter the threat exploitability level and/or the level of the technical impact. This will help the reader have a comprehensive view of the essential security countermeasures that should be applied for protecting IoT infrastructures from potential cyber-threats.
