| Description | One of the most important features of the dike rehabilitation is the restoring of the water-tightness capacity of the dike. The lost of this capacity may be due to some initial construction faults whose effects amplified in time. This is the case of the complex hydrotechnical work on Ostrovul Mic river next to Haţeg City. The paper presents the geotechnical results obtained by digging three deep shafts, as well as the results interpretation. The various remedial solutions proposed took into account both the technological and economical features of each scenario. This construction work is presented as a case history to the undergraduate students in order to show an approach for choosing a civil engineering solution.
