| Description | Contributed by It is obvious by observation of natural processes that pocket change possesses entropy, and follows the laws of thermodynamics. Thus: 'The entropy of coins is inversely proportional to their denomination. That is, pennies possess maximum entropy, silver dollars minimum. Therefore, change in a pocket will spontaneously decay, in a manner to increase the entropy of the system (pocket), towards a state of all pennies. The change will never spontaneously reform into a state of higher denominations (lesser entropy).' Book Name: More Random Walks in Science |
