| Description | In this chapter I outline the features of participatory research and highlight some specific issues that arose when I was involved in Group Inquiry. This inquiry aimed to explore the educational experiences of student midwives as part of a national evaluation project carried out between 1991 and 1994 (Kent et al. 1994). I examine the work of Seyla Benhabib, whose discussion of discourse ethics and politics seems useful for understanding some of the issues raised by group inquiry and developing feminist participatory research methods.
