| Description | Collapse is a critical accident type in construction industry. Different from other accidents (e.g. falls and mechanical damages), collapses are normally due to combinative causes involving people from various hierarchies in many organizations besides frontline operators. A systematic approach is necessary to analyze the causes of collapses. The purpose of this paper is to apply a new accident analysis approach (24 Model) to analyze the root cause of a collapse accident at the Tsinghua University High School construction site. The results showed that 24 Model was feasible for accident analysis in this situation. Also, prevention measures were deduced according to the accident analysis.
