| Description | Silicate-layered nanocomposites have received a great deal of attention during the last few years. Various nanoclays treated with several intercalants are commercially available. It is important to identify the most suitable intercalated nanoclays for a specific polymer matrix. In this work, nanocomposites based on vinyl ester resin have been made from different commercial intercalated nanoclays. The formation, chemistry, and performance of the materials have been studied by different techniques. The advantages and disadvantages of each nanoclay with respect to the formation of the nanocomposites are discussed. Book Name: Design, Manufacturing & Application of Composites |
