| Description | A heating test on Continuous Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams and bending test on heated beams were conducted. The purpose of the tests was to evaluate the residual bending strength of the beams and acquire basic data needed for the evaluation of their fire resistance. As temperature rose, the residual tensile strength of the continuous fiber bars decreased, and a transition of the mode of failure from the compression failure of concrete to the rupture of continuous fiber bars was observed. Even in the same failure mode, compression failure occured earlier at higher temperature. Keywords: Aramid fiber, Carbon fiber, Continuous fiber bar, Glass fiber, Postheating bending test, Rate of decrease in stiffness 1 Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the residual flexural strength of beams reinforced with continuous fiber bars (aramid, carbon, glass, etc.) through a heating test and a postheating bending test and obtain basic data necessary for the evaluation of the fire resistance of continuous fiber reinforced concrete beams.
