| Description | Application of self-compacting concrete which does not require compaction work is effective for improving the productivity of lining work. However, conventional self-compacting concrete requires greatly increased unit cement content compared with the ordinary concrete used for tunnel lining. Therefore, by using a new special thickener and a general-purpose high-performance AE water reducing agent, we have developed low-cement concrete with high fluidity and self-filling ability without increasing the unit cement content. The newly developed concrete was applied to concrete lining of a road tunnel, which realized homogeneous tunnel lining without performing compaction work.
