| Description | During the later period of steam flooding in heavy oil reservoir, a collection of serious situations such as the lower oil rate, lower OGR and higher water cut appear. In this case, it is important to study some conversion displacement to improve the development efficiency of heavy oil reservoir. At the beginning of the 20th century injection air has be studied, the technology has some advantages, such as, rich gas source and low cost [1-2]. The first project of air injection is in the former Soviet Union. Air injection has been used as the main EOR method since 1931 [3]. Later, air injection was initiated as the third oil recovery in light-oil reservoirs in the USA by Amoco, Gulf, or Chevron, and increased oil production has been obtained in these projects. There are a number of ongoing successful air injection field projects, such as, the West Hackberry field, Buffalo field, Medicine Pole Hills field, and Horse Creek reservoir in the USA [4-7]. Finally, some high-pressure air injection projects are also planned or have carried out the pilot test [8-11]. Book Name: Advances in Future Manufacturing Engineering |
