| Description | Of dune water in a small nature reserve called Solleveld (just south of The Hague, Netherlands) started in the year 1887. To avoid problems with brackish water in this near shore area, it was judged that it was necessary to balance the abstraction. In 1970 artificial recharge commenced and by the 90's the system produced up to 5 million $m^{3}$ per year. In the year 2000 an environmental impact assessment report was issued by DZH in which it was described, how the system, the operation and nature management of the area $could_{|p1|}$ be moderated in order to overcome all kinds of bottlenecks and increase both water production (up to 8 million $m^{3}$ per year) and scenic beauty with respect to fauna and flora. The paper describes the concept of OINS, the range of ideas, scientific tools and methods that have been used. The Dune Water Company shortly expects a permit and will then demonstrate that this moderations increases production capacity, benefits nature and reduces costs.
