| Description | The present paper will introduce the methodology to assemble a frameless glass structure which toughened glass panels are used as the structural material against various loads including earthquake and wind loads. The authors will promote the structural system and some configuration patterns of frameless glass structures for practical construction, including assembling methods of Reciprocal Glass Panels/Lap-units and Crossing-units, Triple-connecting and units of pyramids etc. Furthermore, the present paper will explore the mechanical characteristics of the glass panels used in the proposed system by elastoplastic analysis and loading experiments. In addition, the author will propose a methodology for its structural design with allowable stress calculation against dead load and seismic load.
