While manufacturers provide highly detailed and technical instructions for cleaning and maintenance, these documents are not readily usable by reprocessing technicians as real-time job aids. This paper describes some of the significant human factors considerations involved in creating job-aids from manufacturer's instructions and their inclusion in the Veterans Affairs Interactive Visual Navigator1 (IVN™) system.
