| Description | In this chapter, the machining and machinability aspects of two DTC materials of non-metallic materials are considered. These are ceramics and composites. Both are being used increasingly in industrial applications. First, types, characteristics, classification, and applications of ceramics are presented. Then the fabrication and processing techniques of green bodies are dealt with. Finally, hard machining processes of sintered ceramics, through both traditional techniques, are considered. Composite materials are also considered in a similar manner. Traditional and non-traditional techniques used in machining composites are presented.
