It argues that the biblical paradigm lays a groundwork for creative approaches as additional "brick(s) towards rebuilding of the wall of Africa" in response to Jesse Mugambi's challenge that Africans must rebuild the wall of Africa and their societies that are now in ruins. The chapter discusses aspects of Mugambi's proposal for a theology of reconstruction beginning with an analysis of the changes in the political landscape which called for such a theological reflection. It argues that the Ezra Nehemiah paradigm of reconstruction was problematic. The reconstruction as a paradigm for doing theology is necessary but liberation and reconstruction must complement each other in South Africa.
