| Description | The resilience of developing countries' economies can contribute significantly to their socio-economies, gross domestic product (GDP), and positive employment ratios. For example, the Malaysian Construction Industry Transformation Program (CITP) 2016–20 aims to consolidate efforts in architecture, engineering, construction, and facilities management (AEC-FM) sector. The CITP 2016–20 focuses on four main thrusts, with its backbone reliance on a combination of industrialised building systems (IBS) [nb. this is colloquially termed offsite manufacturing (OSM)], and building information modelling (BIM). The Malaysian CITP 2016–20 also reports that the construction industry currently contributes 4 per cent to the Malaysia's GDP and is expected to contribute 5.5 per cent to 2020 (CIDB, 2015).
