| Description | After introducing both static and dynamic logic circuits for building combinational logic in the previous chapters, in this chapter we explore how these logic circuits can also be used to implement sequential logic circuitry. The output of combinational logic is determined solely by the present input. In contrast, the output of sequential logic is determined not only by the present input but also by its preceding inputs, thereby the previous outputs. In other words, the sequential logic has a memory that memorizes the history of its previous outputs. Book Name: Introduction to VLSI Systems |
