| Description | Skewed integral abutment bridge (SIAB) is jointless bridge where girders and piles are cast monolithically with bridge abutments, and the longitudinal axis of deck is at an angle to the abutments. In order to study the ductility behavior of SIAB, the East Montpelier Bridge was taken as the prototype, and bridge models were constructed using analysis software SAP2000. Principal mode modal pushover analysis was used in the study of SIAB. The influence of skew angle, H pile arrangement and using an innovative pinned pile-abutment joint on the SIAB ductility behavior were studied. Research results indicate that the existence of skew angle can decrease the ductility performance of the bridge system; Pile with web parallel to the abut-ment axis presents higher bearing capacity and larger deformation capacity without reducing much ductility performance; When innovative pinned pile-abutment joint is used, the deformation capacity of SIAB increases, the lateral force capacity remains basically unchanged, while the displacement ductility decreases slightly.
