| Description | This chapter presents an overview of the related attempts for HetNet modeling in the literature. It highlights the assumed and used system models. The chapter proposes the detailed grid model toward realizing green femtocell applications. Then, a real case study, namely the e-mobiliy, is examined and used to validate our proposed model via extensive simulation results in chapter. Several studies have been performed on analyzing and evaluating the performance of typical small cell deployments in static scenarios. In order to satisfy energy requirements in grid-based HetNets applications, a Markovian discrete-time stochastic process M/M/N/L queuing model is assumed. The chapter simulates randomly generated HetNets to represent the targeted smart-grid environment in a smart city. Hybrid HetNet consisting of a macrocell and several mobile FBSs is considered for a smart-grid application in presence of cut-offs and energy-saving assumptions. The chapter examines the optimal service rate that guarantees the fastest response time against the lowest energy consumption. Book Name: Smart Things and Femtocells |
