| Description | Corporate social responsibility (CSR) assumes a key role in today's society. Companies, regardless of their size, must be proactive in dealing with ethical and social issues, namely offering environmental protection, employee protection, sustainability of policies implemented and increased employee motivation and productivity. This study, through four case studies using semi-structured interviews, seeks to explore the role and relevance of social responsibility practices implemented at academic spin-offs, and also identifying the main benefits, challenges, and difficulties in their implementation. The findings indicate a significant and diverse number of CSR practices organized and implemented through close collaboration and partnership with other stakeholders particularly with the support of parent universities, science parks, and other organizations.
