| Description | The organic–inorganic heterojunctions have introduced the combination of hybrid organic and inorganic semiconductor matenrials into a single optoelectronic device. In particular, inorganic semiconductors have been intensely studied due to their unique electronic and optical properties, including high light-dark conductivity, high carrier mobility, and long service life as optoelectronic materials, etc. On the other hand, organic semiconductors have always been considered as excellent materials for flexible electronics. The organics can be easily functionalized as donors, acceptors, and photosensitive molecules, which can be synthesized using low cost and scalable procedures. Heterojunction of organics and inorganics gets more benefits than either of the material alone, which can enable multifunctional optoelectronic devices. The key to realization of such optoelectronics is a fundamental understanding of the organic–inorganic heterojunction interface. Here, we introduce the organic–inorganic heterojunction from perspectives of theory (energy-level alignment), properties characterization, and engineering (deposition process). We also review and discuss the applications from the literature, especially in optoelectronics. Book Name: Optoelectronic Organic–Inorganic Semiconductor Heterojunctions |
