| Description | The time effect on the characteristics of water flow through hydraulic backfill materials has been studied. The samples were prepared from coal washery rejects. A functional decrease by time in the rate of flow as well as in permeability has been found. These relationships have been expressed by exponential functions and the kinetics of the phenomenon has been explained. Statistical analysis has been done for the relationship between the ratio of the decrease in the permeability to its final value and the particle size distribution parameters.
